The SEO for Firefox plugin is a must use on all of my computers.

Installing SEO for Firefox
Search Google for “Firefox Download.” Scroll partway down the page and click on “Download Now- Free.” You will get the latest version. Now search Google for “SEO for Firefox” and download the plugin. Your computer will ask you to okay the download. It will ask if it is OK to install. You have now installed SEO for Firefox.

Setting up Your Plugin
I have my plugin set to show the PR, Yahoo Links, Yahoo Page Links and Alexa ranking. Go to “Tools” on your toolbar. You will see “SEO for FIrefox”–Options. First I “Hide All.” Then I go back and set “PR,” “Y! Links,” “Y! Page Links,” and “Alexa” to “Automatic.“ You can choose any rankings that you like to Automatic or On Demand.

The more items you set to Automatic the longer your search pages will take to load. If you set to “On Demand” when you click on the “?” you will get the ranking to show up.

You can toggle the features on and off by clicking on the “SE” picture at the bottom right of your window.

Feature #1
Nofollow or Dofollow. This shows if a link on a webpage is nofollow or dofollow. If the link turns red it is a Nofollow link if it changes to whatever the website standard is then it is a dofollow link. I have changed my Nofollow to pink because often I could not read the link when it turned Dark red. The bleed in my screen would cover up what the link was. Turn your nofollow to pink**

Features #2-35
This feature works when you are searching in Google. As soon as you search you will see some Blue lines appear with a bunch of question marks. These are all links to rankings of web page sites if you click on the question marks. The sites I really like to know what the numbers are #1 Y! links #2 Y! page Links #3 Alexa and #4 PR (Google Page Rank). I have turned off all the other options so I only get 4 links showing up underneath all of my searches.

Numbered Links
Another nice feature is it counts the number of links ahead of the link you are on. I set my Google search to show 100 results and this way I know exactly where my result comes up in the search engine. In my opinion you must be in the top ten. The Top five really unless there is Wikipedia or About.com on the first page. Then you will still get some clicks with over a 10. But very few.

After you get this plugin go and play with it.
Learn by playing around. I really also like putting a website into the SEO for Firefox Lookup tool. It spits out a ton of information.

Turn your Nofollow links Pink**
To change SEO for firefox highlight to pink. After you have installed the plugin click on “Tools” at the top of your page. Then “SEO for Firefox” the “Options.” At the top of this page you will see Click on the color and you can change the color. You can also turn this feature on and off.

Play with searches now and look at the results in the “Blue Line” below the listings. I have a tough time searching without this plugin installed on other computers.

I believe Google Page Rank is the classic sideshow.

Google gives out updates to your page rank every so often. Many in the Internet world revolve around this ranking. I think it is just a simple diversion.

The actual page rank is hidden. They really do not let you under the hood of their super money making search engine. They realize that many people are number conscious. We like 44 magnums, Supersized burgers, 300 hp cars, and the bigger the number the better.

Money For Nothing

What is PageRank for?
The main reason for the pagerank is so people will use the Google toolbar. The Toolbar gives Google a ton more information about what the internet user is doing. They needed to give us some great reason to use it.

Numerating what you already know
The Page Rank actually puts a number on what you know is already going on with your page. If it were real then why are there so many examples of zero pages above 5 ranked pages in the index? If it is real it is just way slow at updating.

What really matters?
Traffic. Ranking in the Google Search engine for your key terms. And if you are trying to make money, how much money are you making?

What Google Wants
They want you to follow their rules. Put a bunch of free content for them to make money off. You put up the content and they have the ads next to and above your results. If you follow their rules they will let you put adsense into your pages too.

Disagree? Let me have your comment–Rick

ImbyRick.com is a Dofollow Blog. Your comment if approved will not be nofollowed.

My Posting Plan
I have a personal Posting Plan. It is not complicated and seems to work well.

Develop a list of dofollow blogs in and around your website niche. How you do this will be the subject of another article.

Become a regular poster on these blogs. As you develop more and more of your own pages link to them. As soon as I post a new page I back it up with a post to a link from a nofollow blog. I also reward the nofollow blog a little boost by bookmarking the page.

A Penny for my thoughts.

Let me explain about that post. I always make the post relevant. Often over 50 words and on topic. I use the tips for my Building Links 101. As I state in that article pay a lot of attension to the name you use.

Lucia’s Linky Love Plugin
Lets you set the limits on giving links to comments. The owner of the blog can set this to 3 to 10. If set to 3 then comments will be nofollow until they have 3 comments approved. There are also some other features to this plugin. Very well thought out.

I also look for blogs set up with Lucia’s link love. They usually are well thought out blogs. My comments are almost always accepted so the 3-10 limit is no big deal. It makes me get a little aggressive at commenting on their blog at first. I really like to get over the hump quickly.

IM by Rick is a Dofollow Blog. All comments are moderated.

There is a lot of commenting in internet marketing on Nofollow.

What is No follow.
From Wikipedia the definition is
“nofollow is an HTML attribute value used to instruct some search engines that a hyperlink should not influence the link target’s ranking in the search engine’s index. It is intended to reduce the effectiveness of certain types of search engine spam, thereby improving the quality of search engine results and preventing spamdexing from occurring.”

This means that with a nofollow put into the link Google will not follow or count the link against the person who owns the website but also will not count the link as a plus to the writer of the comment.

Most blogs now automatically include nofollow in the comments.

I disagree with Nofollow
Why I totally disagree with nofollow. I moderate all comments. My thank you for an actual comment it the active link. If I get even a whiff of you not reading the article and leaving a comment you are toast.

Why should the content you are putting on my website not benefit you as well as me?

I love comments.. State your thoughts on this one.

I Give you Link love
Any comment I approve from this blog will not have the nofollow attribute activated. It is very easy getting link love from me.

This is a Dofollow Blog. We love comments.
