Simple WordPress Static Home Page
It used to take a bit of work to make a Simple WordPress Static Home Page.
With the newer releases of WordPress it has become a simple couple of clicks in your Dashboard.
- Click on Dashboard
- Click on Settings
- Click on Reading
- on the line that reads “Blog pages show at most” change the 10 to one.
- Go back to your Dashboard and edit the post you want to be your home page. Open your desired page then edit “Visibility: Public” by clicking on the “Stick this post to the front page” box.
- Save the page
You now have a static home page website. I like to change the 10 post to two or three instead of One which will show the last couple of articles you posted after the sticky page you set as your home page.
Here is another way to get a WordPress Static Home Page.
I want to know that What are the benefits for doing it this way vs just using WP Admin-> Options and setting the front page that way? I would like to say a huge thank you for the support you have here on the site. I like theme and have been thinking about using a static page so thanks for these instructions.
