Hubpages and Squidoo

It is a good question as to whether you should build Hub pages and Squidoo pages.  Is your energy better spent building other links that rank well that you own or are Squidoo and Hubpages worthwhile?

Squidoo
I am not a big Squidoo fan (my lenses have gone nowhere) but I have had a lot of success with Hub pages.  You will find many people have had the opposite experience.

Since I have not done very well with Squidoo I will not be giving any advice on Squidoo.  Wow that makes sense.

What I know about Hubpages

I have found Hubpages rate quickly and well in Google.

Hubpages also ranks you as an author.  If your author rank falls below 70 or 75 the links on your page will become nofollow.  The main factor that seems to affect your rank is the number of links out of your page.  If you build a good article it will rank well.

At first I was linking to all my other hubpages on my page. Do not do this.  This brought down my rank.  Hubpages will put a box on your page that will talk about your other pages.

Build more hubs.  If you build more hubs your author rank will grow some also.

Only two links from your Hub page
This is one of the areas I got into trouble.  Only link out to your website with two links.  If you have more your author rank will sink.  I put one anchor link in to the main page of my web site I am promoting with this hub and another anchor link to an internal page.

Add your RSS Feed to your Hub pages.  This does not count as a backlink and the feed links will show up quickly.  The links out from your feed will be dofollow also.

Hubpages takes a little more time and energy to build a page than your own blog or website.  I find the interface is fine but you have to go into each section to modify it.

Selling your Lense or Hub page.
I have seen some lenses go for $150 or more.  Several people are selling Lenses and seem to be making money at it.

If you have more comments about Squidoo and Hubpages your comment is welcome.

IM by Rick is a Dofollow Blog.  Thanks

  1. I have had really good luck with my hubpages also. I have built three different identities with hub and they are all getting good traffic.

  3. well there are some people who do well with both. If I had to choose, I’ll go with Hub vs a Squid.
